Environmental Team (Restoration Team Members) – The Plant People – Auckland

The Plant People’s Environmental Team are searching for additional field staff due to expansion of operations. The team undertakes a large amount of strategic weed control within native bushland areas, riparian zones and also general weed control in non-sensitive areas prior to large scale revegetation activities. As well as native revegetation and ongoing maintenance works.

We are looking for individuals who have an interest in restoring native ecosystems within New Zealand, and the associated activities that are involved.

The role will be fulltime Monday to Friday, the work is physically demanding and a base level of fitness is required.

Experience and relevant qualifications would be preferred but not essential.

Ideal Candidates will have one or more of the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Natural Resource Management
  • Practical experience undertaking restoration activities
  • Site Safe Passport or Gold Card
  • Growsafe Certification
  • Experience undertaking trapping/baiting
  • 4wd experience or certification
  • Chainsaw operation certification and experience.

However any skill/qualification gaps will be filled with in-house training.

A full drivers license and the ability to drive a manual vehicle is ESSENTIAL.
