The Terrestrial Ecosystems Unit is seeking an experienced Science Advisor to join our Wellington based team.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate that is passionate about species and ecosystems conservation and will both carry out, and commission, scientific research and specialist advice across a range of challenging and exciting terrestrial conservation issues.

The ability to translate scientific knowledge into practical management actions will be vital, as will the ability to engage, advice, and communicate effectively with a range of Department staff and stakeholders across a variety of work programmes.

To be successful, you will be a leader and influencer, working with others to provide quality science advice in order to develop and refine the systems that help us achieve our Intermediate Outcome Objectives and Stretch Goals.

You will have a passion for excellence and a strong customer focus, and the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally.

The ideal applicant will have proven leadership skills, strong project/programme management skills, and a tertiary qualification or experience in the fields of conservation, terrestrial ecology or biological sciences.
