New Zealand Biosecurity Services Limited (NZBSL) is a privately owned company, specialising in the implementation of practical, effective and sustainable biosecurity related programmes. Our areas of expertise support our passion to protect New Zealand’s unique biodiversity and environment for future generations, through the control of unwanted pest plants, pest animals and unwanted organisms.
Parker Conservation is a small family business run by Kevin, Graham and Kalinka. We provide expertise in management and research in natural and production landscapes. Our particular specialties are as follows:
We have been directly involved in more than 50 reintroductions of 8 species since 1999, 34 of which we have led. We provide a full spectrum of translocation services in New Zealand and internationally. This includes advising on the feasibility of translocation projects, planning and designing suitable methodologies, leading translocations and post-release monitoring.
Conservation Restoration Services
Effective and efficient conservation requires informed and considered planning. We write, review, conduct and advise on restoration and translocation plans, pest control, wildlife health screening and monitoring programmes for ecological restoration. We also provide training and workshops in ecological monitoring, particularly the safe capture, handling and sampling of birds.
Southern Ocean Ecosystems and Seabirds
Southern Ocean ecosystems pose a unique set of challenges. Many seabirds are impacted at sea by commercial fisheries and pollution, and a swathe of island species are affected by introduced mammals and plants. Given these threats, it is critical that accurate information informs conservation management.
Scientific research is essential for effective conservation. Our research encompasses both conservation theory and practice with a focus on reintroduction biology and Southern Ocean ecosystems and seabirds. Our combined output includes more than 52 scientific publications along with extensive applied research for conservation management.

Scrub Consultants Ltd is an environmental consultancy providing ecology based advisory services to landowners and managers throughout the Auckland region. With offices based in Puhoi the company has in excess of 10 years’ experience working on rural-based resource consent, land management and conservation projects.
The consultancy has a strong reputation and good relationships with local professionals that require our services including: Council staff (biodiversity, ecologists, land mgmt., community coordinator’s etc), surveyors, planners, developers, contractors and farmers.
Our consultancy practice has grown from strong ties to the rural sector and a desire to see more conservation projects on rural/ private land and has seen us develop an ethos of practical, farmer-friendly conservation. The bulk of our lowland biodiversity in the greater Auckland region exists on private landholdings in rural areas. Partnering with farmers to achieve both good farming and environmental outcomes is a key focus of the consultancy.
Our work with resource management and subdivision projects has seen us specialise in working with the provisions of the Rodney Section of the Proposed Auckland District Plan 2011. We have particular expertise in bush and wetland assessments, pest mgmt. plans, wetland restoration and large-scale revegetation planning. This work includes natural area assessments/ surveys on 200+ properties in the former Rodney district.
We consider it a significant strength that where appropriate the consultancy is able to work closely with the nursery/ implementation business (Scrub Growers Ltd) to provide a fully integrated planning and implementation service for small to large-scale restoration/ conservation projects.
