Scrub Consultants Ltd is an environmental consultancy providing ecology based advisory services to landowners and managers throughout the Auckland region. With offices based in Puhoi the company has in excess of 10 years’ experience working on rural-based resource consent, land management and conservation projects.
The consultancy has a strong reputation and good relationships with local professionals that require our services including: Council staff (biodiversity, ecologists, land mgmt., community coordinator’s etc), surveyors, planners, developers, contractors and farmers.
Our consultancy practice has grown from strong ties to the rural sector and a desire to see more conservation projects on rural/ private land and has seen us develop an ethos of practical, farmer-friendly conservation. The bulk of our lowland biodiversity in the greater Auckland region exists on private landholdings in rural areas. Partnering with farmers to achieve both good farming and environmental outcomes is a key focus of the consultancy.
Our work with resource management and subdivision projects has seen us specialise in working with the provisions of the Rodney Section of the Proposed Auckland District Plan 2011. We have particular expertise in bush and wetland assessments, pest mgmt. plans, wetland restoration and large-scale revegetation planning. This work includes natural area assessments/ surveys on 200+ properties in the former Rodney district.
We consider it a significant strength that where appropriate the consultancy is able to work closely with the nursery/ implementation business (Scrub Growers Ltd) to provide a fully integrated planning and implementation service for small to large-scale restoration/ conservation projects.
