Multiples roles

Our Conservation team is expanding so we are looking to grow our committed team of Conservation Rangers, this includes a Senior Conservation Ranger role. The roles are permanent, full-time. Our Rangers largely work in local reserves; carrying out a full range of conservation ranger activities including weed control, re-vegetation, construction and maintenance of tracks.

These roles are physically demanding but hugely rewarding. It is best suited for someone with a good level of physical fitness, is reliable and has a good attitude. You’ll be required to work with herbicides, and work with a range of hand tools and light machinery, including chainsaws and scrub bars. You must be capable of heavy lifting. You will also be required to be outdoors in all elements and terrains.

As a Senior Ranger you will also be able to lead a small team, while still working under a team leader. This includes quality control, mentoring, managing projects and working towards desired outcomes. If you’ve got excavator or tree felling experience this would be an advantage.

There also may be the opportunity to work away from home on occasion.

If you have a genuine passion for the environment in which we live, this is a great opportunity to grow your career as we are committed to upskilling and developing staff. The successful applicant will work closely with our wider Conservation team to deliver comprehensive environmental management solutions. Nelmac places a strong emphasis on the health and safety of our employees. If successful you will be expected to actively engage in this culture.

For all your hard work you will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration, ongoing training opportunities and Nelmac staff benefits.

As part of Nelmac’s pre-employment checks you will be required to complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test, along with social media, criminal history and ACC checks.
