Cawthron Institute’s Coastal and Freshwater Group is looking for a data scientist that is passionate about bio-physical data and is excited to infuse their data science expertise across our diverse teams to enhance the impact of our science.
As part of a developing data-science team you will be joining a vibrant, collaborative organisation that is highly engaged in applied research targeting some of our most pressing marine and freshwater resource issues and opportunities.
You will have a BSc, MSc or similar in a data-science or a bio-physical science discipline, with strong communication skills and interest in working within collaborative teams. You will have a passion for coding solutions to facilitate quality control, processing, and archiving of data. Ideally you will also have some experience in ‘data wrangling’ and unlocking the full potential of highly valuable bio-physical data sets.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative and collaborative person to be part of a world-class team that prides itself on connecting science and society.The position is based in sunny Nelson at New Zealand’s largest independent research organisation.
