Keystone Ecology is a small specialist company which is involved with a wide range of conservation projects based in Christchurch. The focus of the company is geared towards creating habitats.

The vacancy is a permanent position and the work will principally consist of habitat creation, weed control/eradication and planting, with other tasks from time-to-time as required.

Knowledge of ecological systems is required along with experience in herbicide application – spraying, cut and paint and other herbicide application techniques including using a 800L spray unit.

The ability to actively listen and accept instruction from supervisors is essential.

Keystone Ecology is a contractor and as such we need to meet production targets whilst ensuring the highest of quality is delivered. In practice this means that plants must be well planted within very tight time frames and weeds must be controlled effectively whilst protecting and identifying existing biodiversity. If you enjoy working hard in the out doors maybe this job is for you.


  • Bachelor of Science
  • Experience in Restoration Essential
  • Fitness – at times this will be a physically challenging role
  • Team player
  • Full car drivers licence
