Field Operator – Trap and Trigger – Upper Hutt, Wellington

Salary: $22 – $30 per hour dependent on skills
Permanent, full-time position

For this position, we are seeking an enthusiastic outdoorsman preferably with experience in chainsaw handling and pest management. Ideally someone ready to hit the field running, with a minimum qualification of basic chainsaw unit standards and current first-aid certificate. However, in-house training is available.

In the short term, the tasks will involve working in the forest doing:

  • wilding conifer/pine operations
  • establishing or maintaining tramping tracks
  • trapping predators
  • servicing pest management networks.

Out of region work may require living in the backcountry for 5-10 day stints.

Must haves:

  • Fit and Strong
  • Confident in the Back Country
  • Passion for the Outdoors
  • Open mind to work away from Home.
