Would you like hands-on involvement with ecological restoration projects in the Bay of Plenty?  Wildland Consultants is a progressive consultancy specialising in ecology, biodiversity and restoration planning and implementation, and committed to the care and enhancement of our natural environment.  We are looking for a Field Team Member to join our ecological restoration field team, based in Rotorua.

This role requires technical, hands on skills and experience in all aspects of pest plant control.  Applicants need to be able to travel away from home for a week at a time on occasions.  This may also include staying away for longer periods during winter.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • A genuine interest in working in the outdoors and achieving restoration goals.
  • Plant identification skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Pest plant control.
  • Pest animal monitoring/control.
  • First Aid.
  • Growsafe certification.
  • 4WD.
  • Chainsaw qualifications and experience.
  • ATV/Quad bike.
  • A team player and have the ability to work independently.
  • Have a good level of fitness as this is a physically demanding role.
  • A good work ethic and health and safety conscious.

Applicants with a minimum of Introductory/Standard Growsafe and First Aid qualifications will have a distinct advantage.  A clean full driver’s license for manual vehicles is essential. Site Safe, Chainsaw Certs, 4WD certs, Controlled Substance Licence (CSL) and ATV qualifications would be beneficial.
