As part of our Land & Water Services team, you will be part of the team helping us to shape and deliver our future regional river restoration programme.
We are seeking someone who enjoys building close working relationships and being part of the community they serve. Kanohi ki te kanohi is our preferred style of working. We believe face to face interactions are integral to the work we deliver. We are seeking someone who is committed to the place, the mahi and the kaupapa.
Are you a practical self-motivated person, with three to five years of experience working with farm systems, strong communications skills and an understanding of land management (e.g. soil health, nutrient and riparian management) and resource management regulations?
The person who joins our team should have a tertiary qualification in farm systems, resource management or related discipline, with particular strengths in the areas of New Zealand farming systems in an environmental context.
Skills required are:
- knowledge of te ao Maori and tikanga
- strong communication skills, in particular, an ability to build relationships
- team player, independent worker
- an ability to meet deadlines
- computer user skills (medium to advanced level)
- current, clean, full drivers licence (4WD experience would be an advantage).
You will be involved in developing and promoting of good management practices for sustainable land management, with an emphasis on a community presence.
An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range $68,850-$76,950.
