Nature Guide – Glacier Valley Eco Tours – Franz Josef Glacier

Glacier Valley Eco Tours is a small family owned & operated local business that specialise in bespoke full day and half day guided nature walking tours in Glacier Country NZ.

We are currently recruiting Nature Guides for the 2026-27 summer season:

• 3 x full time (fixed-term) positions for Nature Guides (see start dates below)
• 1 x full time (fixed-term) Base crew & Nature Guide position

Applicants will have excellent English language & people skills, able to work independently, be honest & reliable & have a a great attitude & willingness to learn. A background in conservation &/or natural science is ideal. Tramping/hiking experience preferred as we are guiding in off track areas, as well as a high level of fitness.  Great organisational & time management skills essential. Previous guiding experience is good but not essential. Extensive in-house training will be provided.  Please also include NZ citizenship or residency status.

Applicants must have a full NZ drivers licence for 2 years or more & be able to obtain a passenger endorsement licence (P Licence).

We live in a wild and unique area with loads of opportunities for outdoor adventures, so the positions would suit those who love tramping, kayaking or surfing & exploring the outdoors.

START DATES

Nature Guide

• 2 x Nature Guide start date in September 2026 – March 2027
• 1 x Nature Guide start date in October 2026 – April 2027
• $25.50 base rate (plus kiwisaver and holiday pay).

Base Crew & Nature Guide

• 1 x Base Crew & Nature Guide position start date: Sep or Oct 2026 – March or April 2027
• $26.50 base rate (plus kiwisaver and holiday pay).
