Full-time, Permanent position

Join Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) and use your skills to deliver meaningful conservation outcomes for people and nature.

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the delivery of the Papakura Stream Restoration Project in Auckland. This role is ideal for someone with strong project coordination skills, experience in ecological restoration, and the ability to work collaboratively with communities, landowners, and stakeholders.

We don’t expect you to tick every box — if you bring relevant experience and a passion for conservation, we’d love to hear from you.

About us
Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) is a community-based not for profit that is dedicated to the protection and restoration of Te Taiaio (environment) in Aotearoa.

With offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, each year we engage thousands of volunteers on restoration projects across the country. With the incredible support of volunteers and field staff, to date we have planted more than 2 million native trees, cleared 800 hectares of invasive weeds and 14,000kg of rubbish. That’s not to mention our predator control, species monitoring, the scores of people who have found full time employment through our Conservation Work Skills programme and thousands of volunteers connected to Te Taiao and educated on conservation issues across Aotearoa.

By becoming a member of the CVNZ team, you will be using your passion for conservation to enable this mahi to continue and Papatūānuku to thrive.

About the role
Join our dedicated and passionate team! We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our Auckland team, leading the delivery of the Papakura Stream Restoration Project.

You will be responsible for coordinating restoration activities across multiple sites, including the development or planting plans, organising site preparation and plant logistics, and leading the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of our restoration work. You’ll work closely with private landowners, community groups, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

You will also play a key role in leading field activities, coordinating CVNZ staff and volunteers and ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role that combines planning, coordination, project tracking and reporting, stakeholder engagement and practical conservation work.
