Do you have …

  • 8+ years’ experience as a terrestrial ecologist
  • Proven consultancy, business and team development experience
  • Strong New Zealand botanical knowledge
  • Experience in herpetofauna, avifauna or bat surveys, both handling and management
  • Experience in ecological effects assessment, management and restoration
  • CEnvP Ecology specialist certification or are actively working towards it
  • A drive to support the continued growth and development of an industry-leading ecological services team and develop and mentor junior staff.

Do you have a passion for the environment and a desire to travel across the country working on a variety of projects with a wide range of clients? We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior to Principal level Terrestrial Ecologist available to join our experienced and talented Ecology team.

Working alongside the senior management team and company Directors, the successful candidate will be assisting us in maintaining and growing 4Sight’s vision for the Ecology team and our market reach.

With proven consultancy experience, this role would suit an energetic individual who knows what it takes to deal with dynamic clients, regulatory authorities, iwi/hapū, local community members and a wider range of experts in varying disciplines in order to deliver sustainable outcomes for a range of projects from developments through to catchment-wide management and restoration strategies.

They would need to have a passion for New Zealand’s wildlife and a sound knowledge of botany, plant ecology, wetlands and ecological management with relevant field experience across a range of ecosystems, habitats and taxa.
