The Whakatipu team is looking for a highly motivated person to join the biodiversity team based in Queenstown. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual.
This position requires a person capable of being a team leader and good team member, planning and managing projects alongside the relevant Supervisor. The position may involve working in the back country and outside normal working hours. A good level of physical fitness would be beneficial.
You will have defined leadership responsibilities including the ability to use systems to plan and authorise technical work programmes relating to:
- threatened species management.
- ecosystem restoration;
- animal and plant pest control programmes;
The successful applicant will have project/contract management experience, particularly in the conservation space, budget management experience, experience in operating online system software i.e. SAP, ArcGIS, NAPALIS. A natural heritage or conservation management qualification is desirable.
Overall, you will provide essential support to the Operations Manager to ensure the right work is identified and delivered. You’ll be a problem-solver with a can-do attitude.
Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to complete a pre-employment health questionnaire and undertake a medical examination.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
