He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our Environmental Services department is looking for a highly experienced specialist to provide botanical ecological management and restoration advice. You will be leading the strategic development of best practice indigenous vegetation management and restoration methods for application across local and regional programmes, and will provide advice and support to mana whenua, landowners and community conservation groups, to protect, restore and enhance Auckland’s natural environment.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You’re a subject matter with expertise with in-situ botanical conservation, ecological management and revegetation methodologies. You have proven experience providing specialist advice and high-quality project management for threatened plant species and indigenous vegetation protection. A natural collaborator, we’ll value your strong relationship-building skills as you will be working with the wider council family, industry groups, iwi and landowners to achieve shared outcomes, as well as engaging the public and utilising behaviour change approaches. You’ll have a qualification in a related discipline and/or equivalent work experience in botany, ecology and ecosystem management.
