We are currently looking for a Team Leader Environmental Health to join our growing team and help shape the future of our region. A bit about you: You will have confidence in your ability to provide guidance to your team and educate stakeholders with a mission to deliver exceptional customer service front and centre.  Needless to say that you will be apt at problem solving, patient and empathetic, with the ability to communicate effectively.  A high-level understanding of relevant legislation and at least 5 years environmental health regulatory experience will enable you to effectively lead your team to ensure effective management of Tairawhiti’s environmental health.

Your day will look like: With a mixture of doing and overseeing, you’ll be there to support your team of 6 to implement and enforce statutes, regulations, and bylaws, across Council’s food safety, alcohol licensing, health premises housing/building, water supply, sewage treatment, nuisance control and other healthy living condition functions.  You’ll also have opportunities to contribute your knowledge and expertise to your own projects to improve delivery and efficiencies.
